She and Travis L. Dixon released a study called “A Comparative Analysis Of Anti- and Prosocial Rap Lyrical Themes Found on Traditional and New Media Outlets. The study examines the lyrics included in songs the appeared in the Billboard Top 100 from artists with “traditional record company backing and promotion” and compares them to rap songs shared on Facebook by 600 Hip-Hop Heads.
